CCJBH Full Council Meeting

October 29, 2021

The CCJBH October 2021 Full Council Meeting featured a presentation by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) on California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM), a multi-year initiative to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of individuals on Medi-Cal. DHCS also discussed additional current investments and commitment to efforts involving the behavioral health/justice-involved population. Presenters from DHCS included Jacey Cooper, Susan Philip, Rene Mollow, Tyler Sadwith.

  1. 2021 Legislative Report
    a. Legislative report draft was reviewed by partners and stakeholders during a 2-week period for feedback that was (or will be) incorporated into the legislative report.
    b. Next, the report will move on to Department Executives, the Department of Finance and Governor’s Office for review, feedback and approval, before final submission to the Legislature on December 31st.
    c. Vote #1: Request for a Council motion to adopt 2021 Legislative Report.
    d. Vote #2: Request for a Council motion to delegate authority to the Executive Officer to make administrative decisions necessary to meet Legislative Report submission requirements.

    a. Juvenile Justice
    i. March Meeting: SB 823 Focus.
    ii. June Meeting: Impact of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency on the Behavioral Health of Children/Youth Involved in the Juvenile Justice System.

The Executive Officer reserves the right to limit the time for comment. Members of the public should be prepared to complete their comments within 3 minutes or less time if a different time allotment is needed and announced by the Executive Officer.
  • If joining by computer, press the raise hand icon on the control bar. Pressing the raise hand will notify the meeting host that you wish to comment. You will be placed in line to comment in the order in which requests are received by the host. When it is your turn to comment, the meeting host will unmute your line and announce your name.
