The Council on Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health (CCJBH) celebrated Recovery Awareness Month by holding a variety of educational webinars to honor individuals who are in recovery and the families who provide support.

On September 22nd, CCJBH hosted a webinar that featured a presentation by the California Correctional Health Care Services’ (CCHCS), who provided an overview and update on the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment (ISUDT) Program. Additionally, the Transitions Clinic Network shared how their Community Health Workers, individuals with lived experience in the behavioral health and criminal justice systems, have worked in collaboration with CCHCS to successfully support individuals who are in need of substance use disorder (and other) services as they transition from incarceration to their communities.

Please note that free, confidential help is available 24 hours a day through SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357) or 1-800-487-4889 (TDD). Offering support to those experiencing substance use disorders can make a huge difference in their lives. Together we can help others realize the promise of recovery and give families the right support to help their loved ones.
