CCJBH Diversion Reentry Workgroup

When: April 19, 2024, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 PM

Where: In accordance with Bagley-Keene changes effective January 1, 2024, individuals may participate in the teleconference virtually via MS Teams or in person at 1515 K St. Suite 550, Sacramento, CA 95814.

Description: This workgroup will showcase programs and services from the Camden County Department of Corrections in New Jersey, particularly strategies being implemented to employ Peer Support Specialists, known as NuEntry Opportunity Specialists, in carceral settings, focusing on the complex needs of the reentry jail population. In addition, an overview of CDCR’s Department of Rehabilitative Programs’ Occupational Mentor Program facilitated at Valley State Prison will be provided alongside presentations from Tarzana Treatment Centers College and Share Self Help, both certifying agencies for the California Mental Health Services Authority’s Medi-Cal Justice Involved (JI) Peer Support Specialty, who will be providing an overview of services offered by their respective agencies and highlight their implementation of the JI Specialty.
