Emergency Management Training for Staff

Due to recent events related to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Department has identified external training resources that may prove beneficial to staff. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offers several National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses which are free of cost and may prove useful to a wide range of departmental staff when faced with prolonged emergency situations. The trainings are designed to be completed in sequential order. Staff of all levels may complete these trainings. The Department is recommending that the following courses be completed by staff who may be assigned as an Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD), manager, or supervisor:

If a student has never taken a class through FEMA, they’ll have to apply for a FEMA Student Identification (SID) number. To complete this task, visit this website:  https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/

At the conclusion of the training a link will be emailed so you can access your certificate of completion. Please ensure that you provide a printed copy of your certificate of completion to your respective Training Coordinator or Manger for entry into the Learning Management System.
