ISP places third in virtual Special Olympics Torch Run

This year Ironwood State Prison (ISP) employees went the extra mile to accept the Southern California Branch of Special Olympics’ challenge to participate in the 2020 Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Team Ironwood proudly placed third out of the top 10 teams within Riverside County, raising $1,085.

Ironwood employees’ generosity and thoughtfulness during this pandemic is especially important to the children this money will assist.

ISP staff had an option to register as a Torch Run Special Olympics supporter and run on their own or safely with family and friends in August or sponsor an athlete if they were unable to run on that date.

This money will continue to provide important critical health and wellness programming for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
