Throughout the month of October, CDCR employees will share their reasons for giving during the 2020 Our Promise campaign. They will also share information about the organizations they support, and ways to help others that go beyond financial contributions.
Secretary Kathleen Allison kicks off the 2020 CDCR Our Promise campaign with this video message (also on YouTube). She shares how proud she is of the generosity demonstrated year-round by CDCR and CCHCS staff.
Our Promise: State Employees Giving Back at Work is a statewide initiative through which staff can make one-time or ongoing voluntary charitable donations. These voluntary payroll deductions go to a nonprofit of their choice. And remember: There are many ways to give. These include financial contributions, giving your time, or spreading the word about an organization important to you.
This year’s Our Promise campaign is 100 percent online. The State Controller’s Office has introduced Cal Employee Connect, a web-based, self-service portal for California state employees. This portal allows employees to access their pay warrants online. While there, they can also donate to the Our Promise Campaign without the need for the paper forms.
Inside CDCR and CDCR’s social media accounts will highlight Our Promise, including interviews with staff and the organizations they support.

Share your passion for helping. We want to feature you. CDCR and CCHCS staff go above and beyond each day by giving back to their communities. Share photos, videos, or messages about you and your co-workers’ charitable efforts and the organizations you support. If selected, we’ll feature them on Inside CDCR and social media.
