When North Kern State Prison (NKSP) staff heard about the passing of Officer Isidro Gonzalez, they were devastated. They also knew they needed to help the Gonzalez family in this time of profound loss.

The NKSP staff quickly kicked into gear, demonstrating just how caring and generous they can be when the family of an officer or other staff is in need.

Through a combined effort of a bake sale and barbecue, held October 29, over $7,800 was raised for the family.

“Here at NKSP we support one another and that also extends to the family of our staff,” said Warden Kelly Santoro. “Thank you to all who volunteered their time, efforts, and financial donations. This was a group effort to assist the Gonzalez family.”
