Our Promise urges state workers to ‘Spring into Action’

This March, California state workers can “Spring into Action” with Our Promise to support a favorite nonprofit. Many charities have struggled throughout the pandemic. Even if you already pledge ongoing donations, you can make an additional gift during the spring campaign.

State workers give back

Each day, CDCR and CCHCS employees give back to their communities through fundraisers, volunteer work, and charitable donations. That’s why the Department’s commitment to Our Promise: California State Employees Giving at Work is a good fit.

The program allows state workers to make one-time or ongoing donations through payroll deductions. Employees who already make ongoing donations may opt to make a one-time gift in March as part of the Spring into Action campaign. Any employee can set up an account.

How to donate via Our Promise

  1. Visit Cal Employee Connect. (Set up an Our Promise account if you don’t have one.)
  2. Select nonprofit(s). If they are not among certified nonprofits, you can still donate using the “Write In” section with a valid tax ID.
  3. Complete your one-time gift. Major credit cards accepted. As this is not a gift through payroll deduction, so it will not affect any current payroll gifts.

There are many ways to give, whether through financial donations, giving your time to causes you are passionate about, or sharing information about groups whose work is important to you.
