Retired officer Richard Miller passes away

California Correctional Center (CCC) announced the death of retired Correctional Officer Richard “Rik” Miller who passed on September 11, 2022.

Miller began his career with CDCR as a cadet at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center on June 3, 1995. After graduation, he was assigned to High Desert State Prison in August 1995.

Three years later, he promoted to Correctional Sergeant. In November 2003, Miller transferred to CCC as a Correctional Officer, where he remained until his retirement in March 2019.

“Rik will be greatly missed by those who had an opportunity to work with him. He was a trusted friend and a great partner. Please keep the Miller family in your thoughts and prayers,” according a statement issued by CCC.
