CDCR staff recently attended a Rivercats game, highlighted by the California Medical Facility (CMF) acting warden throwing the first pitch.

CMF, California State Prison, Solano (SOL), CSP-Sacramento and Folsom State Prison joined forces to host a family, friends and colleague night at Sutter Health Park.

“It was a fun night as all institutions bonded over watching a baseball game between the Sacramento Rivercats and the Oklahoma City Dodgers,” said CDCR organizers. The CMF and SOL Honor Guard teams presented the colors for the event.

CMF Acting Warden Daniel Cueva also threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Proceeds from all ticket sales were donated to each institution’s Fallen Officers Fund.

“I’m so glad we partnered with surrounding institutions for a fun night out with our employees. To watch our staff present the colors and see employees from other institutions mingling with each other’s families and friends was awesome,” said Cueva. “But, throwing out the first pitch was the highlight of my night.”
