Jonathan Peralta, a correctional officer who separated from state service in 2021, passed away Dec. 3, 2023. The California native was 33 years old.
Peralta began his CDCR career as a cadet at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in December 2015.
After graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy, he reported for duty to California Medical Facility in Vacaville in March 2016. He remained as the facility until he separated from state service in August 2021.
“Jonathan was highly respected by his peers and a well-loved member of the California Medical Facility family. Our deepest condolences are extended to Jonathan’s family and friends as they mourn the loss of their loved one,” according to a statement issued by the institution. “He will be greatly missed.”
