CDCR Parole Agent Jonathan Richardson of the Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) shares a day on the job, demonstrating how he makes a difference in the lives of the people he supervises.

In the video, we meet some of the individuals under parole supervision he visits on a regular basis and the resource providers they need for successful reintegration, including assistance with employment, housing, education and more.

“It proves that when you supervise with heart, you can transform a life.”

“If you would have told me that I would be 12 months from earning two degrees and I’d be the finance manager for this company, I wouldn’t have believed it,” said one of the people Agent Richardson supervises.

The video is part of CDCR’s new “Day in the Life” series “DAPO Making a Difference,” which highlights how CDCR parole professionals help to keep our communities safe.

Resource providers who interact with Agent Richardson see firsthand his commitment to the people he supervises.

“They know he cares because when he gets on them, it comes from a place of ‘I want to see you succeed,’” said one provider.

“It proves that when you supervise with heart, you can transform a life,” Agent Richardson said. “Those are the things that make me proud about my job because I can rest at night knowing that I did my best.”
