A friendly volleyball competition, organized by Prison Sports Ministries, was held at Folsom State Prison.

The April 6 event brought together 14 volunteers and a photographer who contributed to the success of the Folsom prison volleyball competition.
In addition to volleyball, the day’s festivities extended to include impromptu basketball games and football matches, further enhancing engagement of the attendees.
With a yard filled with 550 individuals, the event provided an opportunity for recreation as well as spiritual connection.
Overall, the day’s activities were met with enthusiasm and appreciation from both the incarcerated population and volunteers, highlighting the positive impact of community engagement and sports within the prison environment.

California Model: Flag football at SATF
The California Model team was on hand at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF) for the Battle of Complex IV flag football game. Teams from Facilities F and G faced off on the field for a friendly game. The Facility G band even provided entertainment for those attending.
ESPN films staff, incarcerated soccer match
Correctional Training Facility hosted a friendly soccer match between staff and incarcerated people, with ESPN catching it all on video. Events like this are an illustration of two California Model pillars in action: Normalization and Dynamic Security.
