California Institution for Men (CIM) in Chino celebrated National Correctional Officers Week, Teacher Appreciation Week, and National Nurses Week by hosting a staff appreciation day May 8.
The event recognized staff’s hard work and dedication in all areas of CIM.
In addition to their everyday dedication, CIM staff have shown their ability to adapt to the department’s evolving mission.
CIM’s Executive Management team organized the event, serving food to approximately 1,500 employees throughout the institution.
Managers arrived at the institution in the early morning hours. They then rolled-up their sleeves and fired-up the grills.
They served chicken, carne asada and potato tacos, rice, beans, freshly made salsa, beverages, and other fixings to second and third watch staff. They also offered breakfast burritos and drinks to first watch staff in all program areas.
“I want to thank all my executives and managers. They demonstrated the strength and unity of our team. Their willingness to go above and beyond in supporting their fellow staff members is truly inspiring. The staff who work at CIM are an incredible team and its one to be proud of,” said acting Warden Travis Pennington.
