Arturo Garcia, a correctional officer at Salinas Valley State Prison, passed away May 29, 2024.
He began his career with the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation in November 2023. After graduating from the academy, he reported to Salinas Valley State Prison in March 2024.
“Please join me in extending our condolences to the Garcia family and keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,” according to a statement issued by the institution.
Services have not yet been announced.
