The California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) in Norco hosted their first Defy Ventures Coaching Day for entrepreneurs-in-training.

Volunteers provide one-on-one coaching on resumes and personal statements. They also serve as early sounding boards for the business concepts that entrepreneur trainees are beginning to develop.
In addition to career coaching and business planning activities, these events also include empathy-building activities, encouraging conversations and connections.
These enhance self-esteem, ambition, and a sense of hope critical to their transformational journey.
The coaching event consists of local business leaders from the community supporting the incarcerated participants, or entrepreneur trainees, who are progressing through the Defy Ventures program called “CEO of Your New Life.”
Through the program curriculum, participants develop employment readiness skills while taking the first steps in their entrepreneurial journeys.
Industry leaders from venture capital, marketing search and supplement firms were present, all volunteering their time.
“Rehabilitative benefits of external stakeholder engagement were on full display today,” said Community Resources Manager Harrison Glin. “It was great seeing the impact our community leaders had on the (entrepreneur trainees), investing their knowledge and support and spreading a message of hope.”
