Children recently learned about their parents’ jobs at California Medical Facility (CMF) and California State Prison, Solano.
The event is part of National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, also commonly referred to as Take Your Children to Work Day. The children were able to learn about the jobs their parents have at CMF and Solano.
For CMF, the tour began with a warm welcome and meet-and-greet with acting Warden Daniel Cueva. After the tour, children and families were provided lunch, followed by some fun with both institutions at Al Patch Park.
Park activities featured music, an Investigative Services Unit booth, K-9 Unit demonstration, a tour of a state transportation bus, and an obstacle course created by the Crisis Response Team. A fire crew also provided a fire demonstration.
“Inspire 2 Aspire” was the theme for this year’s national event.
