Trevor Ramsey, a correctional officer at Pelican Bay State Prison, passed away July 13, 2024.

He began his career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in February 2008 at Basic Correctional Officer Academy. After graduation, Ramsey reported to Pelican Bay State Prison in May 2008 where he remained until his passing.
“Many knew Trevor both personally and professionally. Trevor was respected by his peers and a well-loved member of the Pelican Bay State Prison family. He was a good friend, partner, and a good human being. He will be missed by all. We extend our most sincere condolences to Correctional Officer Trevor Ramsey’s family, friends, and loved ones,” according to a statement issued by Pelican Bay State Prison.
He was 41 years old at the time of his passing. He is survived by four daughters, his parents, two brothers and a sister. Ramsey also leaves behind his fiancé.
A memorial service was held July 27 in Crescent City.
