The California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) at Norco recently partnered with Special Olympics Southern California to raise funds through a Tip-A-Cop event.
Hosted by Ontario TopGolf, CRC staff volunteers and Special Olympic athletes took on the role of food servers during Tip-A-Cop.
During the fundraiser, sworn and non-sworn CDCR staff assist restaurant employees in serving food and beverages while also sharing information about Special Olympics. While the wait staff still receive their tips, CDCR staff ask guests to consider donating to the cause.
Special Olympics Southern California provides seasonal sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The program gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and build relationships with other athletes.
