A two-day event inside California Men’s Colony (CMC) at San Luis Obispo offered hope and healing as part of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
The events were held Sept. 6-7 at the institution. They included 663 walk-a-thon participants, 25 volunteers from the incarcerated population, community outreach, and mental health resources.
Drewski’s Food Truck Fundraiser also brought in over $9,000 distributed to various organizations, including Youth Well and New Life K-9s.
The event was made possible thanks to CMC facility captains, administration, associate wardens, mental health leadership and medical staff.
