David Cross, retired correctional officer

David Cross, a retired correctional officer from Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown, passed away July 5, 2024.

He began his career with the department in July 1995. Three years later, David Cross reported to Sierra Conservation Center, where he remained until retiring in April 2018.

“David will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and brother. We extend our most sincere condolences to the Cross family, loved ones and friends. At this profound time of mourning, the Cross Family has asked for privacy. Please keep the Cross Family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,” according to a statement issued by Sierra Conservation Center.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, Oct. 27.
