Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City recently hosted their Employee Appreciation Day.
The day served as an opportunity to acknowledge the staff’s dedication, professionalism, and hard work.
Prison executives, managers, and staff organized the event, feeding approximately 1,275 employees throughout the institution.
Each department within prison collaborated to ensure a smooth event. All levels of the institution assisted in set-up, organizing, preparations, activities, cooking, and serving meals.
Sharing the day with staff created a friendly atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Management staff rolled up their sleeves and joined the serving line.
Employees served smoked chicken, baked beans, potato salad, smoked macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and rice. There was also freshly made barbecue sauce, beverages, and other fixings for all staff.
Along with serving staff lunch, the event featured a car show, and prizes such as gift cards, tools, barbecue set, redwood carvings, game gear, and a PlayStation 5.
“This was an incredible event filled with fun and laughter. There were also many games set up for staff to enjoy. Throughout the day, executives, managers, and staff demonstrated the strength and unity of our team,” according to organizers.
