Incarcerated persons at Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) contributed refurbished bikes and painted skateboard decks to benefit the community.
The PVSP bike program has a long history of donating refurbished bikes to communities around the Central Valley.
The donations are put toward the 115th year of the Coalinga Chamber of Commerce event recognizing outstanding community members.
The annual event in Coalinga acknowledges the accomplishments of those in service to others in the community.
“Here we pay honor to the nominees for Volunteer, Business, First Responder and Citizen of the Year,” said Scott Netherton, Coalinga Chamber of Commerce executive director. “We also have raffle baskets, silent auction, dessert auction and a live auction.”
The donated PVSP bikes and skateboards will be used for a silent auction to help fund festivals and events in the Coalinga community.
