CDCR’s Human Resources (HR) Division celebrated their second Employee Awards in a March 6 ceremony honoring many HR staff’s outstanding contributions.
Each of the winners was selected from scores of nominations submitted by staff acknowledging amazing accomplishments across HR this year. They sought to celebrate their colleagues from frontline support to strategic leadership.
HR staff make a difference

The event was a powerful reminder of the impact HR individuals and teams make every day going above and beyond for each other and the customers they serve.
The event, once again emceed by Mickey Griffith of Training and Change Management, recognized staff accomplishments in seven Core Value Awards categories.
These included service, leadership, integrity, accountability, respect, trust, and collaboration.
Each award has different criteria for eligibility, but all the categories acknowledge the contributions of each person and the exceptional differences they make every day.
Guided by HR’s strategy built on “people first,” the division continues to evolve – reimagining innovative ways to empower staff while encouraging accountability to challenge themselves towards new levels of success.
The recognition and associated awards help foster a culture of continuous feedback and peer appreciation while boosting both morale and organizational success.
“Recognizing the hard work of all staff is important. We are hopeful this special event helps HR employees feel valued, engaged, and connected to their work,” said organizers. “(Staff continue) driving performance and inspiring others.”
We congratulate each of the award winners on their many accomplishments and look forward to continuing this event next year.
