Christopher Burton, an assistant principal at California Institution for Men, passed away April 8, 2025.

He began his state career as a high school teacher at Centinela State Prison in June 2018.
Then he promoted to supervising academic instructor at Calipatria State Prison in April 2019. In December of the same year, he transferred to California Institution for Men in Chino.
“Our sincerest condolences are extended to his family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” according to a statement issued by California Institution for Men.
