DAPO charity softball benefits Special Olympics

DAPO teams played softball to raise funds for Special Olympics.

The first Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) softball charity event raised over $6,500 for Special Olympics.

While the game was held June 14, Parole Agent III Kenneth Madan began organizing the event in March.

Titled Home Run Heroes for the Special Olympics, the event raised awareness for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. These athletes are the heart of the Special Olympics, and they inspire people all around with their talents and potential.

The DAPO charity event was held June 14 at the Johnson Park Recreation Center in Elk Grove. Capitol and Delta DAPO districts participated.

The DAPO charity softball event was a success, raising over $6,500 for Special Olympics.

DAPO staff displayed tremendous support and enthusiasm throughout the event. According to organizers, they are hopeful the event will continue for many years to come.
