Dennis Schlosser, a correctional lieutenant who retired in April, passed away July 11, 2025. A celebration of life will be held Aug. 15 (details below).

Schlosser began his career as a cadet at the Basic Correctional Officer Academy in September 1997. After graduating, he began his service as a correctional officer at the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad.
Demonstrating leadership and dedication, he was promoted to correctional sergeant in October 2000. Less than three years later, he promoted to correctional lieutenant.
In March 2005, he transferred to San Quentin. He remained at the institution as a lieutenant for nearly 20 years, retiring April 30, 2025.
“He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time,” according to San Quentin Rehabilitation Center.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Aug. 15, at Lucca Bar & Grill, 439 1st St. in Benicia.
