A unique partnership with a social media influencer has resulted in creating the VicBlends Academy barbering school vocational program at Valley State Prison (VSP) in Chowchilla.
“We are celebrating the flagship program (with the barbering school),” said VSP school Principal S. Spencer. “We are so honored and so blessed to have this opportunity here to promote more rehabilitative opportunities (and) employment opportunities for our students.”
VicBlends said he was honored to be a part of changing lives.
“All I ever wanted to do in my life is fill the purpose, to inspire somebody. (I want) to give them an opportunity to better their lives and better the community. I’m grateful to be here today to plant a seed with the students,” he said. “(They) are going to be here to pick up the craft of barbering (and) hopefully have an impact not only on their lives but the community.”
