In a competitive interfacility volleyball showdown, California State Prison (CSP)-Corcoran Facility 4B emerged victorious over 3B, showcasing strategy and teamwork.
Volleyball showdown pits Facility 3B against 4B
In the first ever CSP-Corcoran interfacility volleyball game, it was clear Facility 4B wanted to win the matchup.
Both teams consisted of a coach, two referees, and seven players. Each facility held tryouts, assembling the best team for the match.
Game 1: Facility 4B came out strong, dominating with powerful serves and tight defense to take the first set 21-10. Facility 3B communicated well with each other, scraping together some nice rallies. Unfortunately, it was not enough to withstand the offensive onslaught of a polished 4B team.
Game 2: Facility 3B regrouped and responded with impressive defensive play and precise counterattacks, but it was not enough as Facility 4B also was too much on this toasty midmorning matchup.
Highlights
- Facility 4B’s setter orchestrated the offense with pinpoint accuracy, enabling consistent kills from the outside hitters.
- Facility 3B delivered standout defensive performances, keeping rallies alive and frustrating attackers but was still not enough to secure a victory.
All residents from both facilities demonstrated high levels of sportsmanship, communicating well via constructive dialogue when difficult refereeing calls had to be made.
The event demonstrates the positive prosocial behaviors of the residents of CSP-Corcoran.
