Andrew Singh, a correctional officer at Calipatria State Prison, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025. Services will be held Sept. 14.

Singh began his career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in May 2015. He reported to Calipatria in August after graduating the Basic Correctional Officer Academy.
For a decade, he continued working in various assignments at Calipatria until his passing.
“Calipatria State Prison has lost an outstanding member of its family, and we extend our most sincere condolences to the Singh family. Please continue to keep the Singh family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,” according to the institution.
Visiting will be from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Sept. 14, at Frye Chapel Mortuary & Crematory, 799 S. Brawley Ave. in Brawley. A celebration of life will follow at the Elks Lodge, 161 S. Plaza St. in Brawley.
