Robert Peterson, retired M&SS II

Robert Peterson, a retired Material & Stores Supervisor (M&SS) II, passed away Aug. 24, 2025. He retired in January this year.

Peterson began his career with the department in December 2016 as an M&SS at California Correctional Center in Susanville.

He then transferred to Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown in May 2017.

In January 2020, he promoted M&SS II. He was assigned to the warehouse up until he retired in January 2025.

Peterson is survived by his nephew and three grandchildren.

“We extend our most sincere condolences to the Peterson family, loved ones and friends. Peterson was surrounded by family at the time of his passing and went in peace. At this profound time of mourning, the Peterson family has asked for privacy,” according to the institution. “Please keep the Peterson family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”
