California Correctional Institution (CCI) at Tehachapi held its third annual staff Health and Wellness Fair.

The Sept. 25 fair streamlined services for personnel staff to assist members with modifications to their health benefits during open enrollment. The employees’ association also took the opportunity to involve the community.
The association invited vendors who specialized in holistic, health conscious, wellness-driven business models. Additionally, bargaining units such as California Correctional Supervisors Organization, SIEU and California Correctional Peace Officers Association also setup booths.
CCI Correctional Officer Gonzales brought his DJ gear to provide music for the entire event.
As staff explored each booth, the association hosted a cornhole tournament with winners receiving a customized CCI cornhole board to take home.
“We’d like to thank each staff member and each vendor who made this day special,” association organizers said. “Thanks to all the vendors who donated prizes. Events like these benefit our staff’s wellbeing and livelihood while also offering opportunities to de-stress and take advantage of resources to assist the long-term health of our employees.”
