Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP) is mourning the passing of Isidro Alcocer, mental health office technician. The institution notified staff of his death in a memo issued Oct. 2.

According to his family, he passed away Oct. 1, 2025.
“Alcocer was a treasured employee and friend to many at PVSP and will be greatly missed by his friends and co-workers,” according to the institution.
Alcocer began his career in June 2022, at PVSP as an office technician. In September 2023, he accepted a position as an account specialist at Avenal State Prison. He then returned to PVSP in January 2024 as an office technician where he remained until his passing.
“We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Mr. Alcocer’s family, loved ones, and friends during this difficult time,” according to the institution.
