Peter Garcia, retired office services supervisor II, passed away Oct. 27, 2025. Garcia worked for the state from 1990 until retiring in 2024 with most of his time at CDCR.

He began his career at RJ Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD) in November 1990 as an office assistant. Two years later, he transferred to the State Compensation Insurance Fund but returned as an office assistant at RJD in January 1995.
Garcia then reported to the Richard A. Mcgee Correctional Training Center on June 1995 and was assigned as a correctional officer at RJD in July 1995.
In December 1996, he decided to return to his previous position as an office assistant. He then transferred to the Youth Authority in April 1997 as an office technician.
Garcia them promoted to office services supervisor in April 2000 at RJD. He remained in this position for 19 years, promoting to office services supervisor II in March 2019.
He remained in this position, serving as an exemplary supervisor until his retirement in June 2024.
“Peter moved to Utah to begin enjoying his retirement, where he remained until his passing. He will be remembered by all his family and friends here at RJD,” according to the institution. “We thank him for his service and dedication.”
