SVSP hosts Uncommon Law Project graduation

Uncommon Law program graduates at Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP) in Soledad, California.

Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP) in Soledad and the Uncommon Law Project celebrated the achievements of more than 30 incarcerated individuals who successfully completed the program.

The program equips participants serving life sentences with tools to navigate the parole process, thanks to coaching from people who have been through the parole process themselves.

“Graduates demonstrated exceptional commitment and perseverance in completing the program’s training,” according to the program.

The event brought together graduates, their families, and dedicated volunteers who provided food and refreshments. For many, it was a rare moment to share accomplishments with loved ones.

“These graduates have shown what’s possible through hard work and determination,” said program representatives. “Their success today will ripple through the community inside these walls as they share their knowledge with others.”

While the SVSP Uncommon Law graduation marked the completion of training, it also represented a step toward transformation, leadership, and new opportunities.
