North Kern State Prison (NKSP) in Delano recently hosted a staff appreciation event with food, games and contests.
The event featured breakfast burritos for first watch and carne asada tacos for the second and third watch staff.
During the May 6 event, nearly 1,400 staff members enjoyed a meal alongside activities. They played corn hole, competed to see who makes the best salsa, and who folds the best paper airplanes. There was also a rousing game of bingo.

“A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated in this wonderful event. These events demonstrate how much staff’s hard work and dedication is noticed and appreciated,” organizers said.

For the contributions, NKSP leaders also thanked California Correctional Supervisors Organization, California Correctional Peace Officers Association and California Crime Victims Coalition.
