Avenal State Prison recognized and celebrated its dedicated staff with a variety of special appreciation events for an entire week.
Staff enjoyed pizza and beverages one day, refreshing snow cones on another and freshly made agua fresca (Spanish for “fresh water”) to beat the summer heat.
The week culminated July 2 with a festive staff appreciation day celebration honoring the hard work, professionalism and commitment of all employees.
The grand finale brought staff together for an afternoon of food, music and fellowship.
Employees were treated to delicious grilled hamburgers, refreshing drinks, freshly popped popcorn and sweet cotton candy.
While enjoying live music, staff enjoyed the fun and welcoming atmosphere. The celebration provided an opportunity for staff from all areas of the institution to relax, connect and enjoy time with one another outside of their daily responsibilities.
The week-long celebration was an expression of gratitude for the dedication and sacrifices made by Avenal State Prison staff each day.
Through food, fellowship and appreciation, the institution recognized the employees whose professionalism and commitment continue to make a positive impact on CDCR’s mission.
