Michelle Battles, retired licensed vocational nurse from North Kern State Prison, passed away Aug. 17, 2026.
She started her career with the department in February 2007 at North Kern State Prison. Battles remained in her position as a licensed vocational nurse at the institution until she retired Aug. 1, 2026.
“At this time of mourning, please keep the Battles family and friends in your thoughts and prayers,” according to North Kern State Prison.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, at the First Church of God, 833 N. Blackstone Ave. in Tulare. Memorial reception will follow at The Jockey Club, 620 S. K St., Tulare.
