The Office of Correctional Safety (OCS) assisted the Sacramento Regional Human Trafficking Task Force (SRHTTF) in Coast to Coast, a nationwide human trafficking operation.
The Sept. 10 operation targeted a known prostitution corridor in Sacramento.
The Sacramento-area portion of the operation resulted in multiple cite-and-release arrests on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute and engaging in prostitution, as well as several traffic-related violations leading to multiple vehicle tows. During the operation, several victims were contacted and offered resources.
OCS Investigative Training Unit and Specialized Technology and Investigations Unit (STIU) participated in the operation.
Operation Coast to Coast comprises a coalition of over 250 law enforcement agencies and organizations including Safe House Project, Our Rescue, Traffic Jam and Delta Air Lines.
The multi-state Sept. 10 operation was conducted from the New Jersey State Police Regional Operations Intelligence Center. The operation provided services to 74 probable adult victims and five juvenile victims (including a 1-year-old) and resulted in 125 arrests across 22 states.

STIU conducts complex investigations by leveraging existing and emerging technologies to support the security and investigative interests of the department.
STIU personnel are assigned to:
- digital forensics
- counter unmanned aerial surveillance operations
- financial crimes
- Threat Liaison Officer program
- and human trafficking investigations.
