31030.4.2 Medal of Valor Awards Committee

  • The Medal of Valor Awards Committee shall consist of the following members:

    • Undersecretary, Operations

    • Undersecretary, Health Care Services

    • Undersecretary, Administration

    • Director, Division of Adult Institutions

    • Director, Division of Adult Parole Operations

    • Director, Health Care Services

    • One Division of Adult Parole Operations Regional Parole Administrator/Assistant Deputy Director

    • One Chief Executive Officer

    • Two Wardens

    • Director, Division of Rehabilitative Programs

  • The Medal of Valor Awards Committee shall meet annually no later than the middle of May, or as frequently as deemed necessary by the Undersecretary, Operations. The Medal of Valor Awards Committee shall make its recommendations to the Secretary from the prior calendar year’s nominees, no later than the end of June.

  • The Assistant Secretary, OPECOffice of Public and Employee Communications, or their designee shall serve as the primary staff member for the Medal of Valor Awards Committee and shall ensure that all seats are properly filled, meetings are scheduled as needed in order to vote on all nominations submitted, and all members listed above or their designee are in attendance.
