54020.28 Visiting in a Community Hospital

  • Visits for inmates in a community hospital may be approved under the following conditions:

    • The inmate has a life-threatening or critical illness/injury.

    • The visitor is an immediate family member including registered domestic partner.

    • The visitor has prior approval to visit the inmate in an institution/facility.

    • The institution head or designee approves the visit.

    • The attending physician authorizes the visit.

  • Visitors in a community hospital shall comply with the CDCRCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation visiting rules and any restrictions or requirements imposed by the institution/facility or hospital.

  • The length of visiting in a CDCRCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation infirmary, hospitals, or community hospitals shall be determined by the institution head or designee based on staff availability.
