The purpose of this memorandum is to provide updated direction regarding in-person and family visiting. This memorandum supersedes the memorandum dated September 19, 2022, titled, “UPDATE TO VISITING REGULATIONS” and the memorandum dated August 26, 2021, titled, “ROADMAP TO REOPENING UPDATE – VISITATION AT CAMP SETTINGS.”
In Person Visiting in Institutions and Camps
- COVID and influenza vaccinations are strongly encouraged but not required for either visitors or residents.
- COVID testing is not required either before or after visitation for visitors or residents.
- Face coverings are encouraged but not required for visitors.
- Face coverings are encouraged but not required for residents, except for those residents who are in exposure-related quarantine and test negative on the day of the visit as part of the day 1/3/5/7 test-to-program strategy. These residents shall wear a procedure mask while in visiting.
- Procedure masks and KN95 masks shall be made available to all visitors and residents for use in visiting.
- All visitors shall self-screen negative for COVID symptoms on the day of the visit. Visitors who present with COVID symptoms shall not be eligible for visiting.
- If staff observe residents or visitors displaying symptoms consistent with a contagious disease, the visit may be terminated.
- Hand hygiene should be encouraged and hand sanitizer made available to residents, visitors, and staff in all visiting areas.
- Residents who are in exposure-related quarantine are eligible for in-person visiting if they are asymptomatic and test negative on the day of the visit as part of the day 1/3/5/7 test-to- program strategy.
- Residents in medical isolation are not eligible for in-person or video visiting.
Family (Overnight) Visiting in Institutions and Camps
- COVID and influenza vaccinations are strongly encouraged but not required for either visitors or residents.
- COVID testing is not required either before or after visitation for visitors or residents.
- Visitors shall screen negative for COVID symptoms on the day of the visit.
- If staff observe residents or visitors displaying symptoms consistent with a contagious disease, the visit may be terminated.
- Residents who are in medical isolation or quarantine are not eligible for family visiting.
