Retired Correctional Officer Bruce Marino passed away March 15, 2024. He worked for the department for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2013.

He began his career as a correctional officer at the California Medical Facility in March 1985.
He later worked at San Quentin State Prison and California State Prison, Solano, until transferring to Pelican Bay State Prison in September 1995.
Marino remained at Pelican Bay until retiring in September 2013.
“Many knew Bruce both personally and professionally. Bruce was respected by his peers and was a well-loved member of the Pelican Bay State Prison family. He was a good friend, partner, and a good human being. He will be missed by all,” according to a statement issued by the prison. “We extend our most sincere condolences to Correctional Officer Marino’s family, friends and loved ones.”
