Honoring Public Service Recognition Week

national public service week

Public Service Recognition Week is May 5-11

This week, the spotlight shines on public service employees across the nation who, like all of you, continuously show up to ensure our government runs effectively for everyone. As we celebrate National Public Service Recognition Week, we acknowledge the critical services CDCR and CCHCS staff provide to Californians.

Whether ensuring safety and security, providing healthcare services, administrative functions,
rehabilitative programs, or serving in one of the multitude of additional capacities, your contributions are invaluable. The services you provide play a vital role in fostering positive change within our system.

Through the California Model, we are working to make communities safer, both inside and outside
our institutions. We continue to roll out the California Model with the goal of statewide implementation. In doing so, we have witnessed a transformative shift, one that prioritizes rehabilitation, reintegration, and the overall well-being of both staff and the incarcerated population.

While the challenges we face can be significant at times, the impact of our efforts are profound. Each one of you plays an integral role in making this important change a reality.

Please take a moment to reflect on your contributions and feel proud of the impactful role you play in public safety and rehabilitation. It is through your dedication to public service that communities are strengthened, and that our government runs efficiently.
