Parole agents turned out to attend the San Diego Mesa College graduation for two female reentry program participants.

Female Community Reentry Program (FCRP) San Diego Parole Agent II Specialists David Escobar and Eduardo Ayala attended the May 9 college graduation ceremony for participants Ginger Mankins and Ruby Pineda.

The participants are part of the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) at San Diego Mesa College. EOPS strives to aid student retention and provide them with an education that is not limited by barriers, such as being on parole.

EOPS assists students who have traditional educational barriers such as:

  • child dependents
  • are current or former foster youth students
  • undocumented students and those with mixed-status families
  • students impacted by incarceration
  • first-generation students
  • and students with disabilities.

The program helps students succeed during their time at Mesa, offering comprehensive academic and counseling support, along with a number of other services.
