In the 2023-24 school year, incarcerated students at California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) earned 48 associate degrees through three partnering colleges.

CRC in Norco is committed to assisting incarcerated students by helping them advance to higher levels of academic programming. It’s all part of the effort to meet their rehabilitative goals.

Partnering colleges include Norco College, Palo Verde College, and Coastline Community College.

Many of these students will further their education and pursue their bachelor’s degree at CRC with Pitzer College. They will also have the opportunity, beginning fall 2024, to pursue degrees through the University of California, Riverside.

College students at CRC are provided the opportunity to live in honor dorms. These dorms offer supportive, study-focused environments to facilitate and accelerate successful completion of college degrees.

CRC’s dynamic college programs and special housing accommodations are in line with the goals of the California Model. This prison reform effort aims to create an environment rich in rehabilitation with improved outcomes and opportunities for incarcerated persons.

Warden Glen Pratt and his administrative team held several tours for public stakeholders, state legislators, administrators, and community leaders. This gives them an opportunity to tour CRC and its highly successful college programs.

“We know the impact college has on students and its ability to change lives,” said Warden Pratt. “We are committed to furthering those opportunities so more can invest in themselves and transform their futures.”
