New magazine offers inside look at California Model

California Model Magazine first issue.

The first issue of the California Model Magazine is available for view now.

This print and digital magazine, scheduled for release twice a year, contains important information and updates on the implementation and impacts of the California Model.

Watch the video (story continues below):

The inaugural issue focuses on the California Model foundational pillars:

  • Dynamic Security
  • Normalization
  • Peer Support
  • and Becoming a Trauma Informed Organization.

It defines these principles and demonstrates how they are being operated in practice across the state, while sharing the impacts of those operations.

The first issue includes insights and outcomes from California Model Resource Teams, as well as how Normalization practices go far beyond in-prison events.

We also share achievements of the Peer Support Specialist Program and explain the importance of Trauma-Informed training.

The issue also unveils California Model insights from Receiver J. Clark Kelso and CDCR Secretary Jeff Macomber.

And for those seeking to view the California Model from a wide-angle lens, don’t miss the project overview, California Model Blueprint and the Project Implementation Timeline.
