The Correctional Training Facility (CTF) at Soledad hosted a cultural fair featuring educational exhibits, live performances, and displays of creative work from the population.
The Sept. 5 event included an interactive reptile exhibit, allowing attendees the opportunity to handle and learn about snakes.

Several cultural tables were set up including Samoan, Hawaiian, hip-hop, sports, poetry, art and literature.
Displays featured artwork, poetry, books, and cultural information.
Art created by participants was also showcased with paintings and drawings on display for viewing.
A Taiko drumming group performed on stage, providing a live demonstration to wrap-up the event.
“Events like this highlight the diversity within our institution and provide meaningful opportunities for education, cultural awareness, and positive engagement,” said Warden Edward J. Borla.
The fair provided an opportunity to recognize cultural diversity and highlight positive activities taking place within the institution.
