CDCR agents recently participated in Operation Folsom Blues, a multi-agency sting operation in Sacramento County, resulting in 146 arrests. The arrests are connected to drug trafficking, illegal firearms possession, and other felony offenses resulting in seizures of drugs, cash, and destructive devices.
Participating in Operation Folsom Blues 3.0 were agents from CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety (OCS) Sacramento Special Service Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Division of Adult Parole Operations (DAPO) parole agents. Additional partners included 26 other law enforcement agencies across 17 counties.
“We are proud of our continued partnership with law enforcement agencies across the state and at the federal level to ensure our communities are safe,” said CDCR Secretary Jeff Macomber. “This operation demonstrates the tremendous value of working together toward a critically important goal.”
Seizures included:
- five pounds of fentanyl
- 8,000 counterfeit fentanyl pills
- 15 pounds of methamphetamine
- two pounds of prescription pills
- 115 firearms
- destructive devices
- and approximately $280,000 in cash.
The resulting fentanyl seizures represent more than one million potential deadly doses of the opioid.
The operation builds on the success of the previous two Operation Folsom Blues, launched in November 2024. The latest operation is the largest Folsom Blues to date.
Law enforcement efforts focused on disrupting online sales of drugs, conducting search warrants, interdiction operations, and patrols in drug-activity hotspots.
DAPO agents also conducted targeted parole compliance checks.
OCS served as the primary departmental link with allied law enforcement agencies, providing support and aid for all field operations during the sting.
