Packard Arnold Polin, a retired correctional counselor II specialist, passed away Oct. 14, 2025.

Packard Polin

Polin began his career with the department in 1972 at California Correctional Center (CCC) in Susanville.

During his 30-year career, he held various positions at CCC, Deuel Vocational Institution in Tracy, the Correctional Training Facility at Soledad, and Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown.

He reported to Folsom State Prison in September 1986 where he remained until retiring in July 2002.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Packard’s family and friends during this difficult time. His commitment and service have been valuable to the CDCR community, and he will be sincerely missed by all who knew him,” according to the institution.
